Clean Up isn’t on your iPhone?

Apple’s Clean Up tool in the Photos app needs Apple Intelligence, which runs only on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. On older iPhones the tool simply isn’t there.

Snip erases people and objects on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 15.0 or later. Brush over what you want gone, or tap an object Snip has already found, and the background is filled in.

Enhance a blurry photo with Snip

Enhance Quality works on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 15.0 or later. It’s part of PRO and runs on our server, so you need an internet connection.

Snip enhances a copy of up to 1024 px and returns an image four times larger — about 4096 px on the long side. A small picture from a chat comes back much bigger and crisper; a full-resolution iPhone photo won’t get bigger, so there’s less to gain.

What enhancing fixes well

  • Pictures saved from messengers and social media that lost quality
  • Small crops and thumbnails you need bigger
  • Old low-resolution photos and scans
  • Slightly soft shots with small details

Snip on iPad

The same app runs on iPad with iPadOS 15.0 or later, with the same tools and the same subscription. On iPad, Snip uses the iPhone layout.

How your photos are processed

Background removal, the eraser and the enhancer run on our server: Snip uploads the photo, processes it and sends the result back. That’s why the iPhone and iPad app needs an internet connection. Finding objects and text for the eraser happens on your device.

Details are in the privacy policy. If you want photos to stay on your device, Snip for Mac processes everything locally.

Free to start

Snip is free to download with 3 background removals a day. PRO is $9.99 a month or $19.99 a year in the US App Store, and it also works on Mac.

iPhone and iPad questions

Is Snip free on iPhone?

Yes. Background removal is free for 3 photos every day. Erasing objects, enhancing photos and batch mode are part of PRO.

Does Snip for iPhone work offline?

No. The iPhone and iPad app processes photos on our server, so it needs an internet connection. If you need offline processing, Snip for Mac runs entirely on your Mac.

Why can’t I use Clean Up on my iPhone?

Apple’s Clean Up tool in Photos requires Apple Intelligence, which is available only on iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. Snip’s eraser works on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 15 or later.

Can I use my subscription on Mac?

Yes. One PRO subscription works on iPhone, iPad and Mac with the same Apple Account.

How do I change the photo resolution on iPhone?

For new photos, go to Settings → Camera → Formats. On supported models, choose 12 MP or 24 MP under Photo Mode, or turn on Resolution Control (or ProRAW & Resolution Control) to take 48 MP photos. For a small photo you already have, Snip’s Enhance Quality can increase its resolution up to four times.
